Woman finds out she’s in heart failure thanks to her pregnancy

The picture of health, Nicki's elevated heart rate was at first attributed to her pregnancy. She says her daughter is a ‘miracle’ for helping to lead to her diagnosis of heart failure.


Nicki Arsiniega was the picture of health. An avid runner, when her heart rate noticeably increased, doctors initially attributed it to her being pregnant with her second child. While doing the dishes one night, she could feel her pulse racing and felt her heartbeat through her neck, so she rushed to the hospital.

Arsiniega says if it wasn't for her pregnancy, she would have never gotten the lifesaving procedure she needed.
