National Transportation Safety Board officials are discussing on a livestreamed meeting Tuesday the tragic fire that killed 34 people last year on a boat off the coast of Southern California.

The Labor Day weekend scuba diving expedition had 33 passengers, all of whom died along with one crew member. The other five crew members survived.

Presidential candidates debate

President Donald Trump and Democratic nominee Joe Biden will return to the debate stage Thursday in Nashville, Tennessee.

The 90-minute debate — uninterrupted by commercials — starts at 9 p.m. ET and will be moderated by NBC White House correspondent Kristen Welker. The Nielsen company said the first debate between the two men last month was watched by an estimated 73.1 million people.
