Watch: Officiant 'secretly' gives football score in middle of wedding ceremony

When there's a Saturday wedding on game day, you have to get creative.

Jessica Jester and Kevin McCarthy tied the knot Saturday afternoon as the University of Cincinnati Bearcats played the Notre Dame Fighting Irish, a game that had massive implications for Cincinnati in the College Football Playoff conversation.

A statement win would likely be heard on a national level, making an argument for a Group of Five team to earn a playoff spot after beating both the Irish and Indiana on the road.

With both the bride and groom being Bearcats fans, their ceremony lasted well into the second half of the game — with the wedding party and guests alike left wondering the score.

That's when officiant Adam Billiter came in.

"I promised Jessica that I wouldn’t bring religion into this," he said mid-ceremony. "But I thought I needed to mention it a little bit, and just mention – From the Book of Luke, 24-13 – 3 minutes and 56 seconds to go. Go Cats!"

His statement was met with applause from the crowd and laughs from the bride and groom.

The Bearcats ended up with a win, adding to the couple's joy. Congrats to the happy couple!
