Cherie O'Neil, like so many, has lost a lot in 2020. Her mother died of Parkinson's disease in June, followed by her son, Michael, who passed away a few months later in September.

"It's been a very rough year," Cherie said.

Before he died, Cherie's son encouraged her to make masks to give to friends and family. She wasn't sure she could keep up with the demand, but tried anyway.

When a friend suggested her sewing talents could be used to give Elf on the Shelf a 2020 makeover, she leapt into action and created a whole line of teeny-tiny masks for anyone who keeps an Elf on the Shelf in their home.
