Two high school sweethearts, together for 41 years, were finally reunited after a terrifying battle with COVID-19. Rhonda King was in the hospital for 116 days and was put on a ventilator in a medically induced coma. Her husband, Anthony, called her three times a day so she could hear his voice, telling her things like, "You're strong, you always have been. You hang in there. Don't leave me."

After nearly three months in the ICU, Rhonda King's ventilator was turned off and she started the difficult rehabilitation process. According to Anthony King, she was so weak she was unable to lift her arms or legs. Her care team promised if she worked hard, she could go home.

That day finally came, and Rhonda King left the hospital with a round of applause from the hospital staff. Anthony King told the staff, "Everybody been so sweet to her and I thank y'all. You all are God sent but I'm so glad to leave."

Her husband's words, the tireless effort of Rhonda King's health care team and plasma donated by a COVID-19 survivor that provided valuable antibodies made this sweet reunion possible.
