Urban winery makes handcrafted wines and tastings accessible

Jenny Dawn Cellars has brought the unique winery experience to a small city.

Founded in 2016, Jenny Dawn Cellars brought the unique winery experience to Wichita, Kansas, as the city's first urban winery.

Jennifer McDonald, the founder of the company, started as an at-home winemaker. She worked for six years to establish the brick-and-mortar location at the historical Union Station in downtown Wichita. They craft their own wines on-site, working with grapes and juices from growers in Kansas and California.

Jenny Dawn Cellars makes eleven different wines, many of which have earned various awards; the Chardonnay won "Best in Class" the San Francisco Chronicle Wine Competition.

Jenny Dawn Cellars offers wine tastings, hosts small events and hosts monthly Winuecation classes to help others become experts on wine.

The tasting room opened in 2019, just before the global pandemic. Along with following the necessary guidelines, Jenny Dawn Cellars now ships their homemade wines across the country and even offers virtual wine tastings.
