'Snip bus' makes low-cost spay, neuter services accessible to pet owners

Instead of having to find a veterinary clinic, the Snip Bus is bringing the clinic to pet owners.

A specially designed bus is offering low-cost spay and neuter services to pet owners in Monterey County, California.

The Snip Bus is capable of providing the much needed veterinary services that operator Melanie Scherer says could help curb the high euthanasia rates in the area. Last year, more than 2,000 animals were euthanized in just two local shelters alone.

The Snip Bus team can spay and neuter up to 30 animals in a single clinic, for $25 per pet.
