The family of an Army sergeant who recently returned from Afghanistan was given the ultimate surprise when he showed up unexpectedly while they were on a trip to an amusement park in Lancaster County, Pennsylvania.

Sgt. James Miller is career military and has been serving for 16 years. It's been 11 months since he's been home with his family, and his recent tour of duty made him miss his oldest daughter Hailie's high school graduation.

Hailie was very emotional upon seeing her father for the first time in nearly a year, especially since she's been preparing to go to college soon.

Watch the video above to see Hailie's reaction to her father's unexpected homecoming.
