Here's our risk ranking of popular fall activities in terms of low, medium and high risk. It’s the Rossen Reports Fall Survival Guide. Dr. Amesh Adalja from the Johns Hopkins Center for Health Security is helping evaluate these seasonal staples.

Apple-picking: low risk

Hayrides: medium risk

Backyard bonfires: low risk

Parties: Indoor costume parties that involve alcohol are high risk; outdoor parties with certain precautions are medium risk.

Parades: high risk
