Diedre Wilkes died earlier this month, news outlets reported Wednesday. The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reported she was a mammogram technician.

Wilkes, age 42, tested positive for COVID-19, county coroner Richard Hawk told news outlets.

Hawk told The Newman Times-Herald it was unclear if the disease was linked to the hospital, which said it contacted employees and patients as a cautionary measure due to the positive finding in the test.
