A python that escaped its enclosure Tuesday at the Blue Zoo inside the Mall of Louisiana in Baton Rouge has been located, according to a post by the Blue Zoo on Facebook.
The snake, named Cara, is a yellow Burmese python and is not venomous, according to a Blue Zoo spokesperson.
The Blue Zoo posted a video of Cara being located inside what appears to be ventilation.
Officials with the Blue Zoo said they brought in multiple snake experts to assist in the search as well as an animal tracker that worked evening and overnight.
A spokesperson for the Blue Zoo said Cara is considered a safe animal and is often used to interact with guests in their snake education.
Cara was a rescue snake and has been with the Blue Zoo since before it opened in April.
