Responding officers to Pittsburgh synagogue shooting receive heartfelt thank you's from community

A community that recently experienced a deadly shooting incident is taking the time to thank its local heroes.


Police officers who responded first to the shooting incident at the Tree of Life Synagogue located in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, are receiving gifts, letters and even hugs as thanks for protecting and serving the community.

The walls of the Zone 4 Police Department Station are covered in thank-you notes and letters of support and encouragement from residents of all ages. Some even brought gifts like homemade cookies and drawings.

Cmdr. Daniel Herrmann, of the Zone 4 department, says the outpouring of love from the community has been overwhelming and that his fellow officers are amazed at how much the community is giving back to them for their service on that tragic day.
