Donovan Heykoop called it "a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity."
As a lifetime Phoenix Suns fan, he decided to take a risk to make sure he could see his team in the NBA Finals.
"As soon as we beat the Clippers, I put my car on the market," Heykoop told KOLD.
His car sold for $2,500, which covered the cost of two tickets to the Suns' first game in the Finals.
Heykoop said his parents were okay with the decision.
"They loved it, surprisingly," he said. "I told my mom, 'I'm going to sell my car to get Suns tickets.' She goes, 'awesome,' and I was like, 'okay.'"
Heykoop, who's been going to watch the Suns for years, said it was all worth it to support a team he's proud of — and see them win against the Milwaukee Bucks.
"Thanks for giving us a reason to come out here and sell our cars," he said.
