Young readers go doggone crazy for children's book series featuring author's rescue pup

A children's book author is getting kids excited about reading with a new series that features her rescue dog. Miranda Mittleman has visited nearly 100 schools across Maryland to read out loud to students in kindergarten through second grade. By bringing her dog, Weaver, along with her to those schools, she is promoting the important lessons taught in her books in a way that is both informative and fun for students.
