A California police officer whose wife has end-stage renal disease has called on family, friends and co-workers into the search for a kidney.
Sandra Ventling has been waiting for a new kidney for seven years.
"I think her kidneys at this point are like 2 or 3% functioning between the two of them," Dave Ventling told KTXL-TV. "So we're down, really to the end."
She held off telling friends about the ordeal until recently.
"We were very private about it," she told the TV station.
Now, Dave Ventling has enlisted the help of his co-workers at Tracy Police Department, where he's worked for 13 years.
