A North Carolina woman whose 12-year-old daughter still has lingering effects from COVID-19 after getting sick a year ago is speaking out.

Wednesday Lynch was healthy and active before getting COVID-19 a year ago.

"It's really disheartening," Wednesday's mother Melissa Lynch told WTVD-TV. "It really is because I know she's tired of it. And she just wants to be normal again."

Dr. John Baratta, of the UNC Chapel Hill COVID Recovery Clinic, said Wednesday struggles with fatigue, memory, paying attention, fevers, rashes and even seizures.

She's among a number of people who are dealing with long-haul COVID.
