Mothers Brandi Beckerle and Haley Sparks' separate but similar journeys started with ultrasounds at 20 weeks.
Both of their babies, Ryker and Stevi, were diagnosed with heart-defects.
Brandi Beckerle, mother of Stevi, said "She most likely had something called hypoplastic left heart syndrome."
But when the mothers felt most alone, they found each other and hope. The heart defect HLHS is rare, affecting about one in every 5,000 children.
In a year, Stevi and Ryker have made it through two surgeries. The children are proof that there is always someone out there who can relate to what you are going through.
Despite being so young, the mothers say their children are fighters.
