When a substitute teacher for gym class was needed, St. Louis Cardinals Gold Glove outfielder Harrison Bader soared into the classroom.

"Last week was a challenge," said Patrick Fisher, principal at Meramec Elementary School in Clayton, Missouri. "Mostly, we had a lot of kids out, but it's also the staffing perspective. I think sometimes that's a big part that gets overlooked."
