Five zebras escaped from a farm in Maryland near Washington D.C.

The farm has a USDA permit to have 39 zebras, WJLA-TV reported, but five of those zebras apparently escaped.

A few nearby residents have spotted the exotic animals. Paul Curling took video of one of the zebras that was in a wooded area of his backyard.

Animal control officials say zebras are not dangerous unless they are approached.

"They won't attack you," Chief Rodney Taylor, Prince Georges County Animal Services Division told the TV station. "Please do not try to corner him, try to catch them."
