States across the country have started to reopen parts of their economy as the United States continues to battle with the COVID-19 pandemic.
Some states have let their stay-at-home orders expire. Others have opted to keep their stay-at-home orders in place while still reopening certain businesses and operations. And some states, like New York and New Jersey, still have an order in place with only essential services operating.
President Donald Trump and his administration did not extend social distancing guidelines past the May 1 target date, allowing state leaders to lift restrictions at their discretion.
By May 10, at least 43 states will have completely or partially reopened.
