Former reality TV star Josh Duggar facing child porn charges

The eldest "19 Kids and Counting" star was arrested Thursday by federal agents.

Joshua Duggar, a star from the television show "19 Kids and Counting," was arrested in Arkansas on Thursday.

On Friday, Duggar pleaded not guilty in federal court to charges of receipt and possession of child pornography.

A federal indictment obtained by sister station 40/29 News accuses Duggar of knowingly receiving child pornography and possessing it in May 2019. It allegedly includes images of minors under the age of 12.

Duggar was held at the Washington County jail after his arrest by U.S. marshals, according to the jail website, and was booked into the jail around 1:15 p.m. Thursday.

Judge Erin Wiedemann set a bond hearing for next week.

"Given the nature of the charges against him the court would likely require a third-party custodian that could live with him and would ensure compliance with the conditions of bond," she warned.

She also said Duggar would not be allowed to have minors around him if he were released.

Joshua Duggar is the oldest of Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar's 19 children.

Joshua served as executive director of the Family Research Council, and led rallies against LGBTQ rights, including a seven-state "Faith, Family, Freedom" tour.

Duggar, 33, starred on TLC’s "19 Kids and Counting" until it was pulled from the network in 2015 over revelations Duggar had molested four of his sisters and a babysitter. Duggar’s parents said he had confessed to the fondling and apologized.

He resigned from the Family Research Council after sexual misconduct allegations made when he was a juvenile were reported. Duggar went into what his family called "long-term rehab."

Duggar previously apologized for a pornography addiction and cheating on his wife.
