Husband finds new way to 'visit' wife in hospital

Every day, Steve Ketelaar drives to Good Samaritan Hospital in West Palm Beach, Florida, grabs his chair and sits across the street so someone special can see him perfectly.

Every day, Steve Ketelaar drives to Good Samaritan Hospital in West Palm Beach, Florida, grabs his chair and sits across the street so someone special can see him perfectly.

His wife of over 30 years, Deanna.

Over the years, the couple has been inseparable — until Deanna noticed some back pain that turned out to be cancer.

"That’s when we found out she had cancer," Ketelaar said. "And it was a lung cancer that had spread. It’s in her spine, it got into her brain."

Deanna has been in the hospital for radiation and chemotherapy ever since. Because of COVID-19 hospital restrictions, Ketelaar keeps his wife company the only way he can.
