Several people in Norman, Oklahoma, reported home and car damage caused by a hailstorm that moved through the city Wednesday night.
Norman homeowner Beth Van Horn, who is the mother of a photojournalist at sister station KOCO, said the wind roared like a tornado, causing her and her neighbors to think a tornado had hit the area. Van Horn said they then realized it was a hailstorm rather than a twister.
She described the hail as the loudest she’s ever heard and showed KOCO where hailstones had crashed through her home’s windows.
