Gym designed especially for veterans helps them reacclimate to civilian life

The gym takes into account common injuries veterans have and fosters a team-building atmosphere.


Each week inside a Boston gym, Johnny Jarnagin focuses on the routine and reps with the same intensity he brought to his work as a paratrooper.


The veteran had a difficult time after he returned from a yearlong deployment in Afghanistan in 2010.

"I think that's the first thing you notice when you're out is you're not connecting with people back home the same way you were with the people who you served with," Jarnagin said.

The Home Base program is designed especially for veterans with common physical and invisible injuries in mind.
