Two well-known Kentucky Humane Society survivors got the chance to meet for the first time over the weekend as one of them continues his road to recovery.
Travolta, a small dog that was found severely emaciated and taken to the humane society, seems to be showing some promise after being on the brink of death.
His story nearly mirrors that of Ethan, another dog that was found in the same condition almost exactly a year ago when he was dropped off in the organization's parking lot.
With the help of the humane society, Ethan — and now Travolta — received around-the-clock care. If you look at Ethan now, you wouldn't know he was once nearly dead.
The video shared recently shows Ethan greeting Travolta, and then both of them looking fondly at the team behind the camera. Travolta is decked out in his winter vest, meanwhile, Ethan has on a stylish bow on his collar.
Even Travolta doesn't look anywhere like he did when he first arrived at the humane society days ago.
Last week, the organization reported that Travolta had taken his first steps on his own. That's after he came in covered in feces and sores. He also had maggots crawling all over his body.
The team said Travolta was also at risk of dying of starvation when they took him in.
He's now already gained more than four pounds.
The Kentucky Humane Society team is providing frequent updates about Travolta's recovery on social media.
