Don't make the mistake of underestimating this high school wrestler on the mat

Deven lost his lower legs when he was 8, but that doesn't stop him from having plenty of fight on the wrestling mat.


When Deven Jackson wrestles, he never gives up fighting.

The Pennsylvania ninth-grader been a fighter for much of his life.

When he was 8 years old, Deven was in the fight for his life after being diagnosed with bacterial meningitis.

He was given less than a 10 percent chance of pulling though. Deven lived, but he lost his lower legs.

Some of his opponents have made the mistake of underestimating the high school wrestler.

"He’s a really, really gifted athlete," said Craig May, Deven's coach. "I mean, forget the physical limitations. I’d get in and roll around with him. He’ll make you work. It doesn’t matter whether you have legs or not."
