For a parent, having a baby in the neonatal intensive care unit can be an agonizing experience.
That’s why Chris Askew decided to dance away the stress, and he’s sharing his moves all over social media.
Askew's son, Dylan, was born in January two months premature and weighing only 4 pounds.
"Unless you’ve been through it, you can’t put into words how hard it is," Askew said.
Askew decided to post a video of himself dancing on TikTok for each day Dylan is in the NICU, and will continue posting them until Dylan is strong enough to go home.
His videos have reached over 4 million people, and the outpouring of love for Dylan is growing.
Through his videos, others have come forward to share their stories with Askew
"I almost have more worry for these people I’ve been talking to that have been in there for 190 days, 200 days, have lost their kids in the NICU, and tell me that they smiled for the first time in weeks," Askew said. "And they’re thanking me, and I’m like, ‘Wait, what?’"
