Man recovers from coronavirus after spending more than a month in ICU

"I came to know that I was in the very last stage of my life. I was really worried that I might die."


Karna Gurung, 32, spent more than one month in Nebraska Medical Center's intensive care unit after testing positive for COVID-19. The refugee from Bhutan has diabetes and doesn't know how he contracted the virus, but when he did, he found himself fighting another battle for his life.

Now that he's recovered, Gurung hopes his story will help other refugees in his community and convince people to take coronavirus seriously.
