Three college graduates spend nearly one year restoring historic home

"We did, I think, a really killer job of keeping the old and historic nature, but also bringing new life into it."

Three recent graduates from Creighton University in Omaha, Nebraska, decided to renovate a home together as an alternative to a traditional internship during their senior year.

Although the home was given a fresh set of cabinets, new lighting and updated interior appliances, the renovators also made sure to preserve its historic nature. The young men made interesting discoveries about the house as they restored it, including finding a 1905 edition of the Omaha World-Herald newspaper.

Over the course of eight months, the trio have restored the home to near completion, and are hoping to find a new owner for it soon. They say the project has taught them more than an internship could have, and that it was an incredible bonding experience for all of them.
