A father and daughter in Kentucky are working to spread joy around their community, and it's as simple as a smile.
Michael Ray told WDRB-TV that his daughter, Maddie Ray Lovesto, is a constant source of joy for him.
Maddie has Down syndrome and is nonverbal, but she often expresses herself with a smile, he told the TV station.
"How can we take how she has changed my life to impact the lives of strangers?" Ray thought.
Before long, the Smile Project was born.
"This little platform I created really just to create change in my life and within our community,"he said.
