Baby born after Tennessee mother placed on ventilator due to COVID-19

"I couldn't believe it at first, like, I had a baby," she said.

A mother who thought she spent two days in a hospital ended up there for 32 days while having a baby there, too.

Emily Brown of Tennessee was put on a ventilator for 20 days and also underwent a tracheotomy, WTVC reported.

"When I woke up, I thought I had been at the hospital for only two days," she said. "I couldn't believe it at first, like, I had a baby."

The TV station reported that doctors even told the family Brown wouldn't make it.

The boy, Tucker, spent six weeks in the newborn intensive care unit. But he was negative for COVID-19.

Brown was released Oct. 20 after doctors declared her free from COVID-19 complications, WTVC reported.

The circumstances left the family and doctors saying it's a miracle Tucker was healthy and Brown survived.
