Instead of idling at home for months during quarantine, Tom Trompeter decided to finish a longtime project: building a car from the ground up.
"What I did is I took two brand new bicycles and cut them into and built a frame," he told WDAF-TV.
The retired engineer and inventor decided that this would be a good time to finish building a Model T style hot rod from random items, some of which were yard sale finds.
Those random parts include a piece of a broomstick and a shower door.
"I always build things," Trompeter told the TV station. "I've always been that way, even when I was a kid."
