Stephen Wing carves battle cross statues with his chainsaw. He said he wanted to do something for the families of those soldiers killed, and the idea took off on social media.

He is now working on sending out 15 statues to family members of the fallen all over the country. Thanks to the power of social media, he was able to get in contact with each family.

His Facebook post also helped raise money to cover all costs.

“Anything that’s left over from donations after the shipping, I’ll divide it up and send it to the families. This is just about giving back a little bit,” Wing said.

He said he has completed 9 of the 13 statues and is able to make one or two each day.
