Police responded to an active shooter situation at a local residence in Mission, Texas.

Authorities evacuated neighbors Thursday night as the shooter barricaded themselves in their home, according to Mission Assistant Police Chief Jody Tittle as reported by The Monitor.

Multiple law enforcement agencies were on the scene.

Two people, one a child, were taken to a hospital for non-life-threatening injuries according to KRGV.

At about 9:30 p.m., police took fire when responding to a domestic disturbance report, though there were no reports of any officers being wounded. Backup units were called in according to Mission Mayor Armando O’Caña.

O’Caña said it is supposedly a family disturbance that had gotten out of hand, according to The Mission. “There’s an active shooter situation,” he said.

This is a developing story.
