Despite being the subject of a children’s book based on his life story, Tabouli remains a humble hero.

The service dog is trained to smell out when his diabetic owner’s blood sugar is low.

Elizabeth Gallagher said he's trained to search for a pattern.

"Most of the scent comes from a place that you'd sweat," she said.

Tabouli can analyze smells 40 times better than humans can.

Before helping Elizabeth, Tabouli helped her husband, who had dementia. The service dog has also helped children with autism, and he was a barn hunt champion.
