A 23-year-old father has died from COVID-19 — and his family is looking for answers in the midst of their grief.

Deshaun Taylor had been battling his coronavirus symptoms from home, but he had been released from the hospital twice before he died, his sister Ebony Taylor told WLS-TV.

"His phone kept going to voicemail, so that kind of worried me and I rushed to the house," she told the TV station.

She found him unresponsive in his home.

"His daughter is 4 years old, and she won't be able to see her father again," Ebony Taylor said. "And he'd loved that girl to death."

Deshaun had diabetes and asthma, his family said.
